I bought these for a kids bedroom and figured if nothing else the cabinets were worth $25. They actually sound pretty good. I paired them with a 10" subwoofer, (also purchased on mavin.com). For less than $100, (shipping and all), I was able to create a 2.1 system that most retailers would want more than $500 to duplicate. Great buy!!

I experimented with a few boxes I had laying around. I found the best set up for this woofer was a 1 cu ft. PORTED box, tuned to 45 hz. Using this set up I anticipated a "one note box", but it didn't sound that way at all. With a .8 sealed box it sounded as though the woofer was being held back. I bought this set up based 100% on John's word. No way would I have trusted an MTM array consisting of 6's to actually do anything without a separate subwoofer. BOY, WAS I MISTAKEN. This set up is hitting over 90 db's all the way down to the mid 20's. Adding a 12" sub in your listening area won't accomplish a thing. They don't need it.
