I experimented with a few boxes I had laying around. I found the best set up for this woofer was a 1 cu ft. PORTED box, tuned to 45 hz. Using this set up I anticipated a "one note box", but it didn't sound that way at all. With a .8 sealed box it sounded as though the woofer was being held back. It took about 800 rms to really get it "moving". However, once I moved it into a ported box,( I mean what the hell, at these prices I can afford to experiment, LOL), it didn't take much to get it moving at all. 300 rms and it acted as if it wanted to jump out of the box. The excursion is precise and controlled as well. Nice even sound from low 20's to around 125. No noticeable frequency swells. I would put this sub up against any,(and I really mean any), sub out there costing 4 times as much.
