This is a very heavy and efficient speaker, with a 2" voice coil it can handle up to 225 watts RMS and 350 watts peak. Pumping out the sound is just what this speaker was designed for with a SPL rating of 93 dB and a practical range from 30 Hz. to 5000 Hz. you will find that the EM-TL2506Y-8 is a great speaker to replace that blown driver, or for any new project you have in the wings.

Build a nice set of cabinets with a volume of about 2.5 to 3 cubic feet and you should be fine. I prefer ported designs because of the ease in matching the cabinet to the woofer, but sealed is an option if that is the way you choose to go..
