Misc. Information

If you buy two kits, you can use them to build a nice set of small towers, or a bookshelf speaker design.  Then use the vertical layout for best performance.

    • Cabinet requirements are pretty basic,  you should be fine keeping it around  .5 cf. Ported works well for these woofers.
    • Wiring; the crossover to the speakers is very straight forward.  We putting the woofers in series.  Take the positive lead from the crossover and connect to the positive terminal of woofer #1. Then you will need a length of wire. This wire connects between the negative terminal on woofer #1 and goes to the positive terminal on woofer #2. Finally you run a lead from the Woofer Negative terminal of the crossover to the negative tab of Woofer #2.This completes wiring the woofers in series.
    • Hooking up the tweeter is easy, you run a lead from the crossovers Tweeter positive terminal to the positive tab of the tweeter. Then from the crossovers negative Tweeter terminal to the negative tab of the tweeter.
  • For best response use a tweeter centered design ( Horizontal Layout ), see picture below.

I built these and the lows aren't extremely low, but what can your expect from a small box. These truly kill my Elac and still unsure about them beating my Q350. I am still breaking them in.. It was a great built!! For the money You can't beat these. If you want to spend....$400/$600, maybe you can do it. Put a sub with these????! I keep forgetting about the price...yep no one competes with this package for the money.

Brian Raulerson (Florida) - July 18th 2020
I made this and the mains for my older brother who apparently is nearly deaf. I left this sealed but added some acoustic foam in the inside. I cut an 18" red oak front baffle and cut a recess with a router. I painted the cabinet white and stained the oak "Gunstock" and shot some poly on it. Turned out pretty nice. Sounds great. Kit went together like a dream. Zero problems.
