I recently bought a deal of some nice 6.5" woofers and wanted to see what type of designs that I could come up with.
This one is the D65, a Dual 6.5" Woofer Design matched to a nice Cerwin Vega Silk Dome Tweeter.
Rated at 4 ohms, this design surprised me on the sound quality and overall respnse.
The woofers are wired in parallel increasing our wattage rating to 250 watts RMS. The Cabinet I designed is a Slot Ported Tower and it Sounds 10 times better than the $100.00 price tag would suggest.
Using 3/4" plywood the tower is 41" tall, 8.5" wide, and 12.5" deep, making for a very sleek looking cabinet. For complete detail check out the plans to the right.

For components I went with tried and true product. Our Mavin 2 way 12 dB 4 ohm crossovers and one of the nicest Cerwin Vega tweeters I have seen. I then married the crossover and tweeter with the cabinets and woofers, end result is an amazing set of speakers. Speakers I would match them up to any out there. As long as you build to the drawing, you will not be disapointed.
