You know for many of us there is no better feeling, than to have built it yourself, the joy that comes from the satisfaction of knowing that you did it right.

So who cares if there are a few extra nails, a little missed spot in the corner, this thing is really well built.

You tell your buddies.... "HECK YOU CAN DRIVE A TRUCK OVER IT, GO AHEAD, IT WONT BREAK".

You know what I mean, the first one may not be perfect, but you had fun building it, and most of all you learned more than you thought you would by doing it yourself.

Well this kit is pretty straight forward, you get an 8" Dual Voice Coil Sub Woofer, Sub Woofer Crossover, and Port, three little pieces that will bring the bottom back into any home system.

You know, you can tailor the box to fit in your Car, and be thumping down the road in no time, it works great there too. "By the Way, one works great, 2 will really pound!!"

Cabinet Requirements:

Works with a cabinet volume of about 1 cubic foot.

If you built cabinets with inside dimensions of 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches, & if you use 3/4 inch MDF your outside dimensions would be 13.5 inches by 13.5 inches by 13.5 inches, but build to suit you needs, just keep the internal volume to about the 1 cf model and you'll do fine.
*Note that a good material for this project is MDF, you can buy a nice piece of MDF shelving at your local building supply house for about $3.00 in 8 foot lengths (one 8 foot length should be plenty for this box), most have a nice rounded nose for a stylish look. So for about $35.00 you can build one heck of a nice sounding and performing subwoofer.

*Building and design note, the output from a sub-woofer is non directional, built to suit your needs, so think outside the box, because placement isn't critical. Under a table, behind a seat, in a corner, the speaker facingto the bottom, front, top or side firing it doesn't matter, just place close to a wall which will act as a resonator and improves performance.
Remember too, the only thing that you will be getting out of this box are the very low frequency's, this takes some power to reproduce, so work with at least 40 watts, listening to it by itself is not too impressive, the joy comes from the full chorus of speakers.
