Anyway, rated to 200 watts, this kit will do the job in most home systems and will work well in any mid priced car stereo system too, so you get Big Boy Sound for a modest price...

This a kit, not a completed sub-woofer assembly, so you'll need to construct a cabinet or box for your Home or Auto application...

What to expect for performance, being a subwoofer it enhances the lowest spectrum of the music we listen to, it lives in the 25Hz to 300Hz. range and is not something you hear as much as feel in your bones.

This kit will shake your bones and raddle your teeth a bit, but will need a good amount of power to get it done. Don't expect to feel the earth move with 5 watts of power, deep bass requires some power, so you will need at least a 40 to 50 watt amplifier to make it work correctly, any good receiver up to 150 watts per channel and your in good hands.

What size cabinet should I build??

The volume needed for this size speaker is 2 to 4 cubic feet, so anything in that size range will work just fine. For example a box of 24" by 24" by 12" gives you 4 cubic feet, so a good size for this project is 18" by 18" by 18" for a volume of 3.375 cf.
Remember you're not restricted to these sizes, only the total volume of the cube, so its OK to think outside the box...

Material used to make the box, can be MDF, partical board, solid 3/4" plywood, clay or concrete sewer pipe, any dense material can work for you. But work with materials that work for you...
